I got some wild cought petros and a couple of them seem to have slightly sunken bellies. Are there any meds for this or is that just from poor feeding. If i feed them well should this go away or do i need to medicate.

I'd say make sure there is no aggression going on in the tank and keep up with some water changes, everyother day..... I had two cyps that had sunken belly, did a lot of upkeep and they came back and are eating well now

Waterchanges every other day? Seems excessive i uaually do once a week about 40%. They are eating well and behave normally. Are there any meds for sunken belly

I used epsom salt and some marcylin (spell check) in the hospital tank, its the liquid that turns your tank blue... It worked for me with lots of water changes on a 10gal...

Hello Mike, give the Petro's some time. With time their under side should return to normal. It will take time though, just be patient. It seems with their high aggression level , coupled with a high metabolism it takes more time compared to other fish to rebound. Keep us posted on their recovery.

I agree with Ant.....give them time, but remember if you increase feeding you will need to increase water changes. Petro's are a very dirty fish. If you have them housed with trophs you will need to be careful also so the trophs don't get bloat.
