eheim 2180 crapped out on me

came home today and noticed the my eheim 2180 stoped working and doesnt come or show any signs of life. i tried to contact eheim but their customer service sucks and havent had an answer yet and there is no phone number to call. anything like this happened to anyone ?

hmm maybe the impeller became jammed and burned out the motor if its not making any sound at all. did you open er up and check the impeller?

doesnt seem to be jammed but not moving or nothing. i'm hoping someone might know a service which repairs those filters. those filters are crazy expensive to get a new one now.

dude its [prob not broken.. they get gunked up all the time.. u jus gota play with the impellor.. if the motor is still magnetized its not broken.. try pulling the impellor out and cleaning that hole it sits in with some q-tips

it has an led thermoter in the front that isnt even lighting up. no buzzing it looks to be something electrical. i think its shot

yea sounds like its shot if you arent getting any power.. check on amazon you might be able to buy just the motor (head)

Try plugging it in to a different outlet. My ehiems don't always start up right away after cleaning and using a different outlet works.

I assume of course that you have already cleaned out the canister. Ehiems do trap a ton of mulm in the canisters.
