Thanks Joe. What sizes does he have? I'm mostly interested in fry or small juveniles in the 1-3" range... And is he in NJ?

The Wetspot is owned by Steven Lundblad,,,if its the same shop,,,I do know he lives in Portland,Oregon.
He is an ACA speaker ( on Malawi fish,,,namely Peacocks) and an avid collector and importer,,,although I thought I would never see him on the internet selling fish!
He was on a Safaris with me in 2005 and was there last year with Ad in November.
If the fish are wild then I would believe him,,,he also breeds a lot of fish which he does import from the Stuart Grant compound!
He spoke at the North East Council last year.
I had owned and spawned Auloncara korneliae for almost 9 years, all the pics look fine to me.The difference being probably different cameras, and tonal differences,,,obviously the fish are not all the same age so they are going to look a bit differnt in color intensity.

Thanks Joe, does he have any photos of the males? And does he know how old they are?

I don't believe all of the fish he has listed are actually wild caught. He has numerous mbuna and a couple of haps listed as wild caught and they are 1.5 and 1 inches in length. Also the price he is asking is way too low for wild caught fish. I copied and pasted some of these fish.
1.5" $6.00 Pseudotropheus saulosi WILD
1.5" $5.00 Pseudotropheus sp. "Zebra Chilumba" WILD
1.25" $6.00 Pseudotropheus sp. "Zebra Gold" "Charo" WILD
1.5" $10.00 Pseudotropheus sp. "Red Top Galireya" WILD
1.5" $8.00 Pseudotropheus sp. "Long Pelvic Mdoka" WILD
1.5" $6.00 Pseudotropheus sp. "Elongatus Ornatus" WILD
1" $6.00 Copadichromis azureus WILD
1.25" $6.00 Copadichromis trewavasae "Mloto Likoma" WILD
I counted 8 more of these.

Yeah I saw that too and am wondering if those are typos or the guy is serious....
Then again Larry said he knows the guy if we are all talking about the same person...so who knows...
Either way I can't afford to have fish shipped from there...
Though I wasn't aware he had that many listed as wildcaught Mike....
SPEAKING OF WHICH... Larry if you read this, have you heard of holding females caught by the exporters and the fry being raised and sold as wild as well? I always thought this was possible but never knew for sure if it was ever done or not.

The only other thing I can think of is the parents are wild caught. But then how come they are not listed as F1?

First off, if the fish comes in from the wild and does in fact have a moutfull, the fry are considered wild (pers.comm Ad Konings) , these fry have the same diversity as other wild fish,,,,spawning with more than one male in the wild.
While its possible that the females travelled a long way from Malawi to North America with a mouthfull of fry, shipping them in that condition is rare, but not unheard of. This has happeded to me several times.
There was a time when Sturat Grant shipped youngsters from his compound that were collected from wild fish,I haven't seen that lately.
It seems that the post we are talking about has an over abundance of very small wild caught wild fish at low prices.
There are some exporters in Burundi that pond raise fish, but these are no better than pond raised in Florida and should not be considered wild caught.
Wild Caught means that they were wild caught in the lake!
I would like to know who this guy is,maybe someone could ask for his name,as I am not a member of that site.
Steve is in Portland Oregon and his shop is called the Wetspot,,, so it doesn't sound like its the same person!
Actually I'm a bit confused because the address on the internet site is from Portland and this guy posting is from Texas.

Larry, what about purposely catching mouth brooding females versus catching adults...for example for the species that are rare/hard to come by, or hard to distinguish the females of one species from another... For example I recently had a pair of wild Lethrinops and the male was just beautiful with greens and reds, but the female had a slightly different looking head structure and was never interested in the male (and the male was never interested in that female) making me think it was a female of a different species...
In other words, I was wondering do they sometimes purposely collect wild fry and raise them out to mid size and then ship them? Otherwise the only other thing I have heard of was they catching them during breeding season at the spawn sites to make sure they get the right species...
