So I've been traveling the past few weeks and so things in the 265 aren't all that peachy. Tank is pretty clean but it has been 2 weeks since I had a water change. So here's the deal. There are territorial fights going on everywhere and so I've lost 2 Demsoni and a Male Met. OB Callainos...I now have 2 males and 7 females. No idea if the Demasonis were male or female.
The biggest problem I had/have are my Tropheus. I originally had 4. One died of bloat rather quickly. I honestly did not see ANY symptoms...she just dropped dead. Then the male developed bloat. This I am sure of because he swelled up dramatically and hid.
Last Friday - Sunday I treated the entire tank with the proper dose of Metro and added Kosher Salt as well. I did not feed. So 3 doses.
I do have Metro medicated food and so fed them only twice since last Sunday. I was away the whole week.
So now I came home today and he is no longer swollen, and he is participating in the mad food rush whenever I go near the tank.
What now? Water change? Another dose?

Need advice.
Sorry for the long post.

Let the tank sit for a day w/o medicating. Do a 50% Tomorrow and don't feed

Not sure I'd go 50% if they haven't had water changes recently. Mebbe 25% then 25% again day or two later.

I am Assuming that he did a water change before medicating the first time. Sorry if that was taken for granted. If you didn't you should make that part of your practice. IMO

Good Luck with the Fish :bandit:

I did a 40% water change today.
The Tropheus that had bloat spawned with one of the females today during the refill.

Needless to say I am very happy.

I will feed tomorrow veggie flake every other day for the next few days.

In my experience adding salt is a bad idea when dealing with bloat. Higher salt content seem's to speed the spread. Any other thought's on this would be appreciated. I can only go of off what I've seen in my tanks.
