Wanted to know whats everybody's preference when it comes to the plecos/clean up crew that they keep in their tank.
It seems alot of ppl favor a the bristlenose pleco.

You can't go wrong with a bristlenose pleco. They are always active and don't get really big. Whatever you get make sure its not too small, my mbuna have a tendency to pick on small plecos.

i recently asked the same ? and it appeared that most recommended the abn albino bristlenose... So i will pass along what they told me...
I keep an albino bristlenose pleco in every tank. Not for "clean up" as they don't really do that, but they do a great job on algae control. You do have to feed them separately from the cichlids, as they will starve if there is no algae.
Also, make sure you provide them a couple good hiding spots as they can be picked on by other fish.

I agree with Obi. Albino's actually seem to work a bit harder on the algae and slime on your glass that brown bristlenose do.
If you decide to breed the albino's, the albino fry look awesome in a tank with some driftwood and black moon sand!

Yup, im really trying to avoid the common pleco they have at the LFS.
I like the look of the albino, but I already have alot of yellow in the tank from the salousi. Maybe i'll go with the darker one.
Any other recommendations?
Yup, i def have to make the transition to sand. It just looks too good!

Speaking of a clean-up crew! Last week I brought my breeding pair of Albino Ancistrus into work to my 12 Gallon Eclipse. The left side of it faces the window but I usually have the shade down. One weekend I went home and left it up and the side of the tank by Monday morning had a nice patch of green. After a few weeks I tried using my MAGFloat algae scrapper and it did not even make a dent in it. Plus the back wall and the right side wall had quite a bit of algae too! Well after a week of having the ancistrus pair in there there is no Algae on the front, back, or right sides of the tank and very minimal on the left side. Before I could not even see into the tank from the left side but now there are just blotches of Algae on it. These are the best fish I have ever had for removing Algae!
