The subject for March:
X-TREME Close up.

The rules:
Any photo of any fish that is X-TREMELY close up.

This is my ONLY attempt to go without using cropping. (the rest will be cropped to the max! :))

ONE of my fav cynos, my old Likoma male. Pic taken yesterday--this guy must be pushing 5 years old--I got him 4+ years ago as a WC adult......

Yeah, I'm curious to see some pics of the mbweca you snagged too. I picked up a WC group a while ago---they look quite a bit different than the farm raised ones I had years back.

Gill and Nick, the mbweca are really nice I am very pleased with them. Wish I would have bought more females as I lost one female the first day. The other pair are eating well and look great. I will try to get a pic soon.

Look forward to the pics! I think the farm raised ones i had were nice looking, but the WCs are really interesting and unusual looking.

Yeah the lack of the macro IS limiting--bigger pixel cameras allow for more intense cropping without diminishing pic quality--but ya gotta go with the tools ya got!

This is with the lens right on the glass and the fish just a few inches away.

Bill mind if I post a pic of someone elses though NOT to be counted as an entry....it's an awesome photo I remember seeing on cichlid forum a year or so ago of a frontosa stalking prey and it is a closeup.

I'm not even going to try and make an entry this month with all those awesome photos by everyone...
