Re: Bleaching Rocks
After bleaching rocks, should I soak it in water, so the large dosage of water will "dilute" the chlorine out? If I just dry it out & then place it in the tank, wouldn't the excess chlorine dissapate into the tank water?

After bleaching rocks, just rinse them off and put them back in the tank. You can soak them in water if you like or you can air dry them, but it really isn't necessary. Chlorine dissipates quickly. If you are really worried, just add some dechlorinator to the tank.

I recommend soaking the bleached rocks in a bucket for a day or so before putting them in a tank with fish... But definitely use dechlorinator both in the bucket and the tank.
Thank you so much. It is great to have experienced mentors like yourselves. Both of you agree to apply a "dechlorinator". I don't have this, but I've noticed that SEACHEM's PRIME says "Removes Chlorine, Choramine..." Would this be suffice? If so, how much would you put in? I've also found a few "tap water conditioner" that says that it reduces chlorine in tap water. Woud this work also? Thank you so much!!!

Prime is exactly what you need. For the bucket just a few drops but for the tank look at the directions on the bottle, depends on how many gallons....
I always used to get nervous and soak rocks for days after i used just a little bleach. Always felt it wasn't worth it to see my fish die because of my stupidity, or lack there of...Take it Easy!!

Prime is a dechlorinator. :thumba: And one of the few I recommend regularly. ChlorAmX is my go-to dechlorinator... but either one is fine, and you should use it every time you do a water change or use bleach for sanitizing.
You guys are great! Thank you & grateful for ALL your answers. Looking forward to meeting you all at the auction. It's going to be my first auction. Really excited. Thanks everyone.
