For those of you that didn't read the Atlantis topics, I bought what should be a 1m1f pair of Mikrogeophagus ramirezi (I think I spelled that right...) for part of my first foray into New World cichlids.

Well, throw as much info at me on these guys... So far my primary goal is to not kill these, and my secondary one is to breed them eventually I guess. I read that their fry need Infusoria cultures to eat for the first week or so, is this true?

Right now they're tossed in a 10g with a couple adult guppies. Eventually they'll either get their own 10g, or share a 15g or a 20g with an Apisto sp. I plan on keeping in a few months...

Thanks in advance,
~Ed

Rams do best in warm temperatures. At least 78 degrees F if not more, 80-84. They benefit from weekly water changes. Prefer acidic water but can adapt to slightly alkaline water. Easier to spawn in softer water.
