I'm looking to invest in a dehumidifier. I just have too many tanks going for the house this winter and although the moisture is good for me, I found some mold today when cleaning. Ive had Sinusitis for 3 weeks now and the Doctor had said that It might be Mold among other things. I have a feeling this might be a problem. Im just looking to Cut the level, not completely dry the place out. Id like to keep it around $100 or so, but will spend more if theres a good reason. Ive looked on Amazon and there are a few that review better than others. Does anyone up here use them?:raina:

I purchased a LG, home Depot, runs 24/7, was just under $300. Does a great job, no problems for 18 month's now.

Mine is a Maytag. It has been running 24/7 since I purchased it brand new in 2004. It did a great job when Irene flooded our basement. Make sure you pick something with Energy Star on it.

I have a friedrich with a internal pump to drain it. two years now and runs great. Has a powerful fan also. I think it was around $ 250 at PC Richards when I bought it.

dude buy one from craigslist i got a 40 liter crest brand for $20 it looks kinda old but it works fine.. anyone you get new is going to be at least $200 and thats for the smaller ones.. they basically work like an air conditioner the coils get cold and collect condensation... go used.. cant beat it.. some people still want $50+ for them.. you are the craigslist lurking king i have faith you'll find a sick deal. also i had some mold on my windowsill last winter when i only had 2 tanks.. thats more from the condensation on the glass than your tanks imho

I have a frigidaire white westinghouse dehumidifier. Works great, energy efficient.
I also have a LG from Home Depot and have not had any issues, drains in sump from french drain.

I use a 50 qt Frididaire for a 700 sq ft apartment. It does throw off some heat, which is noticeable in such a small place. Works well though. $185 on Amazon, free shipping.

I have this one as well.
Right now I'm just using those little DampRid buckets from Home depot. They seem to be working well.

Based on Amazon recommendations, I got a 70 qt Frigidaire for about $200. Works great. All of them throw off heat and can be pretty noisy if you have them in a room where you live. Great for a fishroom or basement though. I also invested $12 in a digital humidity monitor/thermometer. They also all consume a good bit of energy, but some are better than others so do your research if power cost is a concern.
