Dainichi and Tropheus...

Just wondering...
Anyone here feed their Troph's Dainichi?
If so, which Dainichi and what size.

I don't keep Tropheus unfortunately (certainly will give them (or Discus) a shot in the future though..!) but I know of people that do feed theirs Dainichi.

They usually feed the Veggie Deluxe or Veggie FX and 1mm size ("baby" size on their website).

All of Dainichi's foods except for their XL Pro formula have spirulina cooked inside the pellet and then uncooked spirulina, vitamins, minerals, etc sprayed on the outside after it is cooked... (As you can tell, I'm a fan of Dainichi foods...).

Don't you already keep Tropheus though Bill? And if you do, why change their diet?

I have fed them Danichi Veggie FX and Veggie Deluxe. Both 1mm.

Ed, I feed my Trophs HBH about 90% of the time and an occasional feeding of NLS. I wanted to see if there was any change, good or bad, with the Dainichi.

I've had fantastic results with Dainichi with my peacocks and haps, so I'd assume the same with Tropheus I guess...

If you are only going to feed the dianichi or nls 10% of the time. I don't think you will see a major difference. You will have to feed them these two foods more often to compare the two. Tropheus are very delicate. If they are doing good with food you are already using. I would not change it. I would use a different species to compare the two foods.

About a week ago I started a new mixture for the Tropheus...
Dainichi, NLS and HBH Veggie Flakes all at one time! I do this once or twice per day with the pellets being dropped in the center of the tank and the flakes off to the sides. This gives the small fry a better chance at getting food as they are all off to either side of the tank.

Most Petro keepers use dainichi ... I have in the past but do not any more.

It's a quality pellet. You should have bigger spawns.
