Let's hear what everyone prefers, Flake or Pellet. I think that flake is better if you have a wide variety of different sized fish. All get their share of food.

Pellet is good because your water doesn't get as dirty and you don't have to feed as much.

Depends on the fish. I use pellets mostly and flake ocassionally.
I also feed frozen every day -brine shrimp, mysis, bloodworms, glassworms.

The two species of Crenicichla that I keep ignore flake and pellets and eat only frozen or live foods.
I make sure that I use sinking pellets in the evening right before I turn the lights off for the Synodontis and plecos.

I use flake for my cyps and juvies really. Some of the larger cyps are starting to eat the NLS pellets. Most of tehadults eat pellets w/ treats of mysis shrimp, bloodworms, etc.

You are supposed to feed fish? LOL! I use flakes for most fish. Pellets for large fish. Too much uneaten food when feeding pellets to small fish.

Tropheus get flakes (HBH Super Veggie), A.compressiceps and J.regani get NLS, and mbuna get a mix of flake, crumbles, and pellets (basically whatever is leftover)

I use pellet because it tends to stay more in the tank as opposed to flake winding up in the filter.

Juvies and fry of course get flake..

Tropical and community have almost always gotten flake in the past.
The Tetra color flake really does enhance reds and oranges as it claims.

I was feeding that to yellow labid fry and juvies until I realived they were growing up with an orange hue to them- rather than yellow...OOPS!

It does go away in time though... takes like a year and a half!
