so yesterday I moved my flowerhorn from a smaller tank to a larger and put all my 1/2" frys into the tank where the FH used to be, everything was fine, I even did a wc while at it.

This morning when I turn on the lights to feed the frys, I notice little 1cm, string like things attached to the glass, and when I look closer, they were MOVING!! Also some are floating around!! how do I kill them, what med to use??? I don't have another small tank to hold the frys right now so need something that can kill them but not the frys.

PS, the flowerhorn is fine and very active and eating like a pig in the new tank, would those worms have came from him? or just from my water. I feed pellets and sometimes frozen bloodworms

Thanks

Really nothing much to worry about. The worms are usually a result of overfeeding. Many small fish will eat them. You can remove them when you vacuum the gravel during a water change.

oh thanks for replying dude, you saved me a lot of worrying. Yes, I admit I do overfeed the FH cuz he seem to be always begging for food. I was worried those were some sort of parasite. now its good, I don't have to worry about feeding my frys.

darn it and I just scrapped them off and did another wc too, now my frys have less to eat..

Planaria or nematodes are indications of poor water quality. You don't want them in your tank, even though they aren't parasites.

You fish will be much happier and healthier with cleaner water, which will get rid of the worms.

Agree with Melinda 100%. Better water quality should be your immediate goal.
