There will be How-To videos coming to this site, but in the meantime here are some of my old pics of putting together a Sponge Filter.

There should be a piece of airline tubing about one inch long attached to the air stone which then would be attached to the top of the Sponge filter.

And a video of making your own? Besides, don't those sponge filters come pre-assembled? At least the ones from Jehmco do...

Yes, the sponges come assembled Ed, but what I am showing is how to throw an air stone on one to make it run more efficiently.

The air stone also makes the bubble action more quiet. Which is a plus if your tank is a show tank;)

As a heads up don't use a professional hand model next time. Save your money so you can make more tutorials.

I am placing an order today from Ken's Fish as they are right around the corner, so shipping is very cheap (as are their prices on the sponges)

This post really comes in handy for me, as I said earlier, I havent used sponges before.

So...sponges dont come with an airstone- you have to add one right?
I ordered the ceramic airstones for $1 ea

cool, that's what i use. after a while, the pores may get clogged so you just need to rinse them off to open them up again.

They have to be better than the old school crumbly green and blue stones though- right?
