got some PVC and was going to make this Gravity Feed siphon system
http://jehmco.com/html/safety_siphon_aquarium_drain.html. hands free dont have to worry about pipe falling out. just have to get the big stuff off the top of the sand, stir it up and let her rip....going to make a mod and add a T on the down turn so it self siphons. just like the drains in the house where the vent pipe to the roof.
