I am getting a new aquarium for Christmas, and was wondering if anyone has used or knows if this filter is any good? It is a Ex45 Whisper Filter? Please let me know.

Ok, this is what I found...

$26.99 for a filter that filters about 260gph (gallons per hour). For Cichlids you are talking about this filter, all alone, taking care of an aquarium no larger that about 30 gallons.
What size aquarium are you getting?
What will you be keeping?
BTW, welcome to EastCoastCichlids!!!:)

Hi Brittany.
What kind of dwarf cichlids are you planning to stock your tank? New World or African?

For that size tank you should be ok with that filter.
Exactly what are you looking for?
Have you thought about Shelldwellers?
A few Neolamprologus Multifasciatus with a nice amount of Turbo Shells would look good.

I was thinking african dwarf cichlids. No i have not thought of shell dwellers, a few of mine friends have them though.

I actually just got the larger vesion of that filter. I added it to one of my tanks as a third filter and so far it works pretty good. I like the fact that the motor is on the outside. Gives it more flow.
