The North Jersey Aquarium Society has invited ECC members along for their NJ Pet Shop Hop on March 28.

The tentative schedule includes stops at these shops:

Kazimir's (Hackensack)
Absolutely Fish (Clifton)
Shark Aquarium (Union)
Pet Shanty (Scotch Plains)
Adam's Pet Safari (Chester)

Dinner to follow, possibly at Larison's Steak House across from Adam's store.

Meeting location and time, a schedule and discount information will follow when everything is finalized.

Make your plans for this now guys.
These are some serious stores.

If you have a salt tank, Absolutely Fish will blow you away with their stock.

Adam's and Pet Shanty always have an excellent stock of cichlids. Both bring in deliveries from Atlantis.

Shark aquariun has lots or rare and unusual species of loricarids, piranhas, rays and others.

And don't forget breakfast and dinner. :a-okhand:

Four of the stores will give a 15% discount, Pet Shanty will give a 10 % discount.

Support the stores that support the clubs!

Who is coming along?

I would like to give the NJAS guys a heads up on who is attending from our site.

I stopped by Pet Shanty yesterday. Sad to not see Doug there anymore.
The had large German Rams at a decent price along with their usual large selection of east and west Africans.

Breakfast, five shops and then dinner!

The little birdy's tune has changed.

I hear the discount at Absolutely Fish has risen to 25%!!!

And since I won a $30.00 gift cert at NJAS last night for that store, I'll be there and probably pick up a couple of SW fish.

I was at Adam's Pet Safari last night and they are loaded up with Africans.
Same for Pet Shanty where I visited last week.

Again, help support the stores that support the Aquarium Societies!!!!

Come out and meet and chat with some of North Jersey Aquarium Societies' members who will be making the trip - Dr. Paul Loiselle - his knowledge of fish will amaze you, Larry Jinks, Tom Gillooly, and Frank Nell - three of the clubs best fish breeders, Richie Martucci - one of the top IBC betta breeders in the USA, Kevin Carr - Mr. North Jersey himself, and a bunch of other great members.

We will be meeting at the Perkins Restaurant, 403 Valley Brook Ave, Lyndhurst, NJ around 8:00 AM and will be leaving around 9:00 AM heading for our first stop - Kazimir's in Hackensack, NJ.

Wish I could go but being a co-chairman at church with the fishwife our Mission convention comes first. I will be there all day Saturday and Sunday. :sad:

Nice to see everyone from NJAS/ECC who showed.

What I saw...
Some really nice Angels at SharkAquarium and Adam's Pet Safari.
A couple of great looking male Kitumba Fronts at Adam's.
A pair of Geophagus (not sure of the type) at Pet Shanty that knocked my socks off.
A bunch of great people that I had the chance to spend the day with.
Fire Skinks at Adam's that I would loved to have taken home!

What I bought...
A few aquarium tops from Sharkaquarium and dog treats from Adam's...no fish as I am saving myself for the auction.

But I did not save myself.

I picked up 3 Salt water fish - small huma trigger(Shark), small snowflake moray(Adam), medium Pseudochromis(Abs. Fish).

Also picked up a group of mouthbrooding severum(Shanty). These are delayed mouthbrooders as they pick up the fry after they hatch.

Great to see Bill and the traveling band of NJAS roadtrippers along with Doctor Paul V. Loiselle.
