Two very good friends of mine in the hobby are speaking on Saturday.
I wish that I could see both, but that will be impossible.
The ACLC has one of the best venues for a club meeting...That Fish Place in Lancaster, Pa. Shop, listen to a talk, shop, mini-auction and shop...what a way to spend a Saturday. Their speaker will be George Richter. George is one of the funnier people that I have met in the hobby. His straight-forward Chicago-bred ways make him endearing to one and all.
George and I shared stories several months ago in the wee-hours of the morning at the Catfish Convention over adult beverages. I would suggest that anyone who can get to TFP on Saturday to please go to hear George and hang out with a great club.
The CCA is having one of the premier photographers in the hobby speak on Saturday...Michael Hill. Mike's pics have graced our Home Page on more than one occasion, and our newest logo of the Ilangi is a picture from Mike.
Mike is also a very accomplished African Cichlid keeper. Mike claims that he has some pictures of me in his arsenal that have not yet been distributed...these are from the ACA Convention in Cincy '09. Have I said that Mike is one of the best people that I have ever met?
CCA's meetings are held in Silver Spring, Md...Joseph and I will be taking the trip down there.
I hope that many of you take the chance to go to a club meeting...it's another way to support our hobby.
