I've used it in tanks with Synodontis eupterus and wildcaught Synodontis decorus to no ill effects. Are you using the pure stuff from Jehmco or Kensfish?

I have treated tanks with metro and clout that housed lucippinis with no negative effects on them.

No copper with scaleless fish, that is a big no no. Metro is fine.

I would not recommend using copper with scaless fish also. There is a fine line with these types of fish that will accurately treat or kill those fish. I would recommend using formalin and malachite green for these types of fish and formalin for any type of wild caught fish. At least that is my treatment regimen.
