All Glass 180 is 182 lbs.
2 strong guys can move it. I've done it several times, even up a flight of stairs once with mine.

An empty 180 gallon tank weighs 282 pounds. With water it will weigh 2100 pounds. 2-4 people depending upon their strength.

I found three websites that have the weight as 338lbs.
Google, and see the differences each site has.

It weighs a lot. 2 can do it but 4 is safer. Get wheels involved - dolly and hand cart.

WOW There alot of diff weights here haha...As long as it's not a crazy weight where I need 10 people because feeding 10 of my buddys food and beer might coast more then the tank... LMAO

Perfecto uses thinner glass right? If that is true then it makes sense weight would be different according to the brand.
We needed two men and an appliance mover (good for the stairs) for my 125G. It's not just the weight, it is also that it is awkward to pick up by the frame only and place onto/into the stand while trying to avoid flexing it.

Trust what you will, but do yourself a favor and don't let anyone help lift the tank that's been drinking beer.

Since you have not purchased the tank you should definitely consider an overflow/sump setup. For a large tank sump is the way to go. I do not like FX5 and canister filters in general. FX5 is a pain to clean as it is very heavy and does not have the quick connect like an eheim. You have to de-pressurize the filter before you can remove the hoses for cleaning. Eheim 2217 is so weak it will do nothing on an 180g.
Sump is easy to DIY. Lots of people use plastic tubes. But I think a 30 gallon glass tank is easier to work with. Go to Lowes to have then cut the dividing glass. It's so much easier to clean than a canister.

Your back will tell you "GO WITH ACRYLIC" :becky: A 180 all glass weighs alot, my 130 took 3 to move.
It takes 2 strong people, a hand truck, no boys. I moved my 180, no stairs myself with a hand truck and put the tank on the stand. My son had to pick my nuts off the floor but, I did it.

I meant 282, I've never been good typing numbers.
Two of us did move it up the stairs, but only because our help didn't show. I've moved it several times on level ground with just two people.

ok, let me ask you guys this , is it worth the 350 400 bucks more for the 180 over the 125

125 - 72" X 18" X 23" verses 180 72" X 24" X 25" The 180 has six more inches in width which is huge when comparing fish tank sizes. The 180 also holds 55 more gallons of water. The 180 has more surface area than the 125. The 180 costs almost twice as much as a 125. Is it worth it? That is up to you. A lot depends upon how big your pocketbook is, how long you plan on staying in the hobby, and what type of fish you want to keep. Most fish keepers wish they bought a bigger tank. How about a 150 gallon tank? Or a 210? Or a 265? LOL!
