I have the TV on while I'm cleaning some tanks in the family room and I overheard the host of this fishing show explain that all snook are born male. Not only that, but they remain males until 12-13 pounds at which point some become females and continue to grow to a very large size. I find that pretty fascinating.

.... some females continue to grow to a very large size. I find that pretty fascinating. Sounds like a lot of women nowadays.

Alot of saltwater fish can change sexes as either they mature or if the female is lost. Wrasse change gender like snook do. Clown fish, the larger one is female, if she's removed or killed, the male will change gender.
