Check this out. I came to work this morning and noticed that this plant flowered over the weekend. Anybody know what type of plant it is and if it's rare that flowering actually happens?

with out seeing the whole plant I'd guess at Spathiphyllum based on the flower.

I'm going to say an Anubias of some type. It happens to mine all the time.

Has there been a change in the lighting lately?

It was moved closer to a window about 6 mths ago, but it got plenty of light even before then.
