medical help please

hello all

picked up 4 cichlids the other night and qt them all now 2 are showing red spots on their bodies , what is your thoughts on the proper meds to use, i have done water changes but i do not know what to apply. did some research and indicates fungus not sure ...any help would be appreciated. thanks

From the pic, could be Ick or fungus? Add salt to the tank, start with 1 tsp to 10 gals. Raise the temp to 82 - 84, keep the tank airated if possible. If Ick, you should notice a differance with in the next day or 2, fungus also should start to go away as both do not take well to salt. You can add up to 1 tsp to 5 gals, just don't add all at once.

I would go with one Tablespoon per 10 gallon...more salt wont hurt.

I agree, you could even go 1tablespoon per 5 gallons and I would raise the temp even higher to 86-88. Cichlids can handle a lot more than a lot of people would think.
