If you were to bring one book, and one book only, to ID fish at the auction, which would it be? What book is the most updated?
The three books I have, but are probably not enough.
The Cichlid Aquarium - Loiselle c.1985
Aquarium Fishes of The World - Axelrod TS-292
DR. Axelrod's Atlas of Freshwater Aquarium Fishes 8th Edition

Of those three, I only have an old edition of Axelrod's book, so can;'t really make an informed decision.
Personally, I like Konings' 4th Edition of Malawi Cichlids in their Natural Habitat - I'm a Malawi guy. That's what I brought to the spring auction.
(Good excuse to get the book on Amazon if you don't already have it... you won't be disappointed.) :typing:

The Cichlid Aquarium is a classic. It's old and some of the species names and equipment mentioned are outdated, but it's still a classic and better than some of the newer books out there by other companies.
