I believe they are. For ich treatment, just tell him to raise the temperature to 86-88F (be sure there is plenty of aeration!) and add a lot of salt...

Yes, Syno's are scaleless.

As directed above slowly raise temp to high 80's and add regular table salt without iodine.
Very cheap and works great.

You can also use Formalin. Just make sure you increase aeration.
