I have a Dimidiochromis compressicep in a 40 gallon tank with a juvie saulosi and a bristlenose pleco. My comp is about 3 to 4 inches and he is really skidish he hides behind the filter and heater at the top of the tank and does not come out to eat. I had him in my 75 gallon for a day and he was getting beat on so I decided to give him his own 40 gallon and he still hides at the top. There is plenty of rocks to hide at the bottom and he is extremely healthy and colorful I am not sure what to do with him. My little juvie saulosi has the whole bottom of the tank and the comp gets along with him. Does anyone have any suggestions on a fish that is afraid of everything. I have to put his food in the tank and then walk to the other side of the room to see if he is eating it. Pretty weird. Thanks for listening.

He'd probably behave better if he was in a tank bigger, upwards of 75g....

That's something, I have the same problem but, with Red Head Sevrums I gave to my father. I have quite a few juvies and gave him 6 to get his tanks to start to cycle. The fish were fine here at my house but ever since they made the trip to PA, 6 months ago, they will not come out from behind things unless your out of there sight. No other fish in the tank, 75Gal, except 1 Bushy Nosed Pleco.

I had him in a 75 gallon and he was picked on by my other fish and it was not working, if i left him he would have became stressed and possibly would of died so I put him in the 40 gallon and It is a pretty big tank he is only 3 inches or so, I appreciate all the help.
