Carib Sea African Cichlid Mix Sahara Sand Gravel. anyone ever use this stuff? its $11 for a 20 lbs bag on amazon i was thinking about picking two bags up for my shell dweller tanks.

If that's the black and white sand which I think it is, I'm using it in about 20 tanks and love it. So do the fishes. :runnningaround:

I should add that I'm using the "non-live" variety. There is a "live" variety would costs about double. I didn't need it as I already have plenty of live sponges. Judging from the price you posted I think you're focused on the non-live too. Nice choice. Don't forget to rinse it. It does clean up very well.

gapp4277 didn't mention that. In my case, I had my LFS order it for me so shipping was zero. That hurts that shipping is more than the cost of the sand. There are other larger stores I've been in that were stocking it, so maybe gapp4277 can find it locally too if they're up for a little road trip.

yea i missed that but i still bought it. i could not find it anywhere else, and problem is i bought a bag at my lfs. i really didnt want to waste it, being im setting up a 55 gal and possibly two 10 gal underneath that i needed two more bags. so i just bit the bullet and paid the shipping. sorry about that everyone.
