I keep a 90 gal in my kitchenette, housing a colony of Dubs Maswa, Cyps, etc. Before I go to sleep I usually view/enjoy the fish. Last night while doing just that, I step on an old towel that I used in cleaning/water change, just lying near the tank. And it was wet. I look down and saw water, so started on panic mode LOL, checking the tank, do I have a leak? Finally found the culprit. The AC 110 filter case that I broke and glued was leaking on the top. So I turned it off, get more towels and clean the area... phew... If I didn't noticed that, I will have dried Maswa for breakfast LOL, and Commander will go ballistic.
Its been a week since I used that glued canister, I guess the weight/pressure after awhile created a leak near the glued side of the outflow...
I was just plain lucky...

What kind of glue did you use.... In any case I would have used acrylic glue (this creates a good bond)... Then you could go over it with another type of glue .. to cover the area.

As much as I like and use the ACs, they were involved in every incident that I've had water-on-the-floor freak out incidents like this!
I've used super glue, let it dry for a day and then followed up with a smear of silicone to repair the boxes.
At least it WASN"T the tank!!!!!!

I just used silicon glue... I guess not good / strong enough. The replacement canister cost $25 LOL

Silicon doesnt stick to plastic very well. Crazyglue will work great.

The fish would have been okay as the siphon would have quit long before the tank had emptied, but you still would have had one major clean up on your hands. Good thing you caught it early on.

Glad it turned out only to be minor. I guess the type of glue you use makes a big difference.
