They bought Aquatrol earlier in the year and are now making the food.

If the price is right ... is it possible to do a group buy direct from them
of say 10 - 20 pounds of Spirulina Flakes ?

Ewww soy and corn are in the ingredients.

I'm staying away from that flake... Those are goldfish food ingredients...

That bad .... I will just stick with my regular supplier of spirulina based flake foods.

How do you knock a product without even trying it? The main ingredients in the spirulina 20 flakes are salmon fish meal (20+% since it is listed as the main ingredient) and spirulina (20%). Protein content is 45%. Sounds like a decent product to me.

Aquatrol was around for years and I have used the Spirulina 20 in the past. I spent last year in FL and the Spirulina 20 was available at a local fish store.
I used it along with my Dainichi pellets and I was very pleased with the health and color of my mbuna that were raised on this diet.

Same reason why I don't feed any of my cichlids anything with bloodmeal in it... Swine Blood is not part of their diet, not even close...so why feed it? Same with Soy and Corn...no where close. Wheat is added just to be the binder and is fine in small amounts, but I'm staying from flakes with corn in it... Soy doesn't bother me that much though since it is a healthy ingredient (veggie, vitamins, and protein) compared to corn which has nothing to offer other than Omega-6, fiber, and sugars.

I mean, even if it is healthy and good for the cichlids, I'd just rather feed something else...

I really like Ocean Nutrition's formula two flakes and pellets, and Dainichi's veggie based cichlid pellets.

Besides I didn't say the product was bad. I just said I'm staying away from it because of the corn.

Agreed on ON Formula 2.

I like ON's algae sheets too, the fish gobble the algae up immediately.

Just realized that I first tried this food one year ago...

Really like it!
The Plankton Flakes are devoured by all fish.
I have been feeding all of my Mbuna, Tangs, Tropheus included, ABN's and Cherry Shrimp this food with success.

The sticks the Zoo Med puts out are sucked up by the Greenwoodochromis like candy!
