I went fishing this morning but after a short time I ran out of worms. Then
I saw a cottonmouth with a frog in his mouth. Frogs are good bass bait.
Knowing the snake couldn't bite me with the frog in his mouth I grabbed him
right behind the head, took the frog, and put it in my bait bucket.
Now the dilemma was how to release the snake without getting bit. So, I
grabbed my bottle of Jack Daniels and poured a little whiskey in its mouth.
His eyes rolled back, he went limp. I released him into the lake without
incident and carried on fishing using the frog.
A little later, I felt a nudge on my foot. There was that same snake with
two frogs in his mouth.

Pretty funny. I have been doing quite a bit of fishing lately. I'm good for 1-2 times a week as long as the wife doesn't complain too much about me leaving LOL. Been catching some nice bass these last few weeks.

Awesome Chill. I'm hoping to get out to Lake Ontario sometime in the next month or so to get some Kings. The Kings and Cohos are starting to stage for their runs up the river in 2-3 months.

few things come to mind when I read this thread:
1. JD when fishing
2. JD when fishing provides the liquid courage to grab a cottom mouth snake
3. Cotton mouth nudges foot- time to find a different body of water to fish
4. Cotton mouth nudged my foot- the result would be a soiled boxers- which could be considered "stink bait" for catfishing

Odd thing was I was fishing with a crank bait the other day and a big bullfrog tried to eat it, what a mess that was treble hooks everywhere took me a good ten minutes to get him free of the bait

I was at Ontario last week at Godfrey Point boat launch. We fished off the bank since none of us have a boat :coz: Only my brother was lucky enough to catch anything, a 16" large mouth. All I can say is be careful there the water police are fierce out there, they must of pulled every boat over that was in the water to check their papers. No arrests though.
Oh and I tend to drink beer when fishing, jack is too hard to mix since I make Jack and coke whenever I drink jack.

Chill, luckily I don't need to worry about my license. I bought a lifetime license years ago and now I don't have to worry about whether or not it's up to date.
I'm more of a SoCo and gingerale kind of guy.
