I received an email from Artie. Even with his years at Harvard, Princeton and Oxford he has yet to figure out how to post a picture. (No one ever said he went to classes)
So, without further wait, I shall post the first entry (Hopefully everyone else can post their own:grin:)...
This is Artie's entry for Picture of the Month (Showtanks)...

Thanks.
It is called Ivory Coast and it's a mix of sand and small pebbles. My feather fins and sand sifters can move it around w/o a problem. So it's pretty fine. It also helps maintain the Ph.

The lighting on my tank by the way is 4 CF bulbs, each 96watts and a total of 384watts...problem is it produces a LOT of hair algae on the glass and rocks...but that'd be a good thing for your mbuna.

Do you clean them regularly or are they just new? I can barely see any algae on them.

Ted, I only turn on the lights when I want to look at fish and I do have a sizable albino algea cleaning crew in the tank. It works out fine since all my big tanks are in the basement and this is one of them.

Rob, Tenecor is currently housing 9 large N. Leleupi, 3 Toae, 3 comps, 3 synos and about 10 clown loaches. I have finally been convinced that built-in w/d was not sufficient for all those big haps. Until I find a way to work the Eheim pro 3, which is now bone-try sitting in a corner somewhere, into the Tenecor filtration system, these "light weight" tangs will continue to call the Tenecor home.

Joe i actually agree with you about the blue rocks..long story short i took some black gravel from another tank that had the blue mixed in. i tried getting rid of it and when that failed i used the gravel to fill in empty spots under the background. the big boss of the tank dug it all up and spit it up everywhere...he is making himself a nice little nook.
Thank you every one for the kind words
