I am looking into a delivery to Philly on Friday June 11th and into Baltimore on Saturday, June 12th (CCA's meeting date).
If there is large enough of a response by those in the NY/LI area I can also get a flight out there as well.

Just a quick reminder...

If you are interested in fish you call up Dave.
We have the order flown to both Philly and Baltimore airports. If there are more people in NY/LI that are interested then we can have a third airport involved.
Dave gives an automatic 10% off for ECC members, and if we hit $1000, and we should, you get 20% off of your order. We all split shipping. I have seen shipping charges, when split, go anywhere from $5-15 per person...an absolute steal!
Dave will take you order and hold onto the fish.
If you are interested in the Philly order, then I am running that delivery.
If you are interested in the Baltimore order than you are dealing with Sarah.
If there is enough interest in NY then we will need a delivery captain for the airport that it goes to.
Dave told me that he was updating his list as he just received 40 new species to his list.

If it helps out at all I would be willing to Captain a shipment into Newark (EWR). JFK and Laguardia are seriously a PITA to get fish out of IME. Anyway, if EWR is an option then I can coordinate that for the website.

We ship through Southwest Airlines, and unfortunately, they don't go into Newark anymore. We can ship to La Guardia or Islip as a third airport if needed.

I also have 1 Syno Flavitaeneatus(from the Syno drawing at the fall auction). I'd like to add 4-6 of either Syno Multi or Lucipinnis. I'm leaning toward the Luci because I see the Multies can get to 7". Is this too many fish for the 125?

If you think this is OK, then here's the dilemna. On the weekend of the delivery to Philly, I will be racing. So would anyone would be willing to be a foster parent for a couple of days?

Yeah I'm the one Fischfan! Oddly enough, when they pulled my ticket, the previous winner still hadn't chosen from the remaining cats. We kind of both got up there at the same time and they took the Multi, which I was hoping to get. So I took the Flav because I liked the way he looked, and the other 2 cats left were large. I've read about them being interesting in groups, are yours? Mine basically hides all day, I only see him at night, I'm sure because he's a loner. I've read, in one of the Baensch books I believe, that there's only a dozen or so caught in the wild each year. Last time I saw F&S had them for $60 each! That's one of the reasons I'm trying for a group of Multies or Lucipinnis, little less $$. I just have to work out the delivery dilemma, unless I find them locally.

First, welcome to EastCoastCichlids.org.
There are two separate flights...one to Philly on Friday, June 11th, and one to Baltimore on Saturday, June 12th.
I am the person who picks the fish up at the airport, after that it is up to you on how you get it. I will be driving from Philly Airport to the Jersey Shore (Ocean County) and I will only make stops that are on my way. Usually the easiest way to get your fish is to meet me at the airport. All of the airport details are posted the week of delivery. The cost of shipping is split up amongst all of us, and is not known until I pick up the fish.

One more reminder for everyone involved, I will probably be at the airport Friday Morning to pick up the fish. It is everyones responsibility to pick up their fish on Friday.
On Thursday night or early Friday morning I will be posting the time that the fish will be arriving and the time that I will be picking them up at the airport.
I will then be driving from Philly airport to Exit 74 on the Garden State Parkway (Lacey Township).
I have one extremely generous offer from a member to hold bagged fish at his home for those who cannot get to the airport, but are in the South Jersey area.
I am flexible about the direction that I drive home. There are three different routes that I can go...
Rte 73>>>Rte 70>>>Rte 72...all towards the Shore
TP North to Exit 7>>>rte 206>>>rte 68>>>rte 537...towards the Shore
TP North to Exit 7A>>>rte 195>>>GSP South
Please be considerate and remember that I have a home to go to and fish that have to be taken care of as well, and my drive to the airport is 90 minutes and another 90 mins to get home. Please be considerate to anyone that you might make an arrangement with to hold onto your fish. Once the fish are picked up at the airport it is your responsibility to get your fish. There will be no Saturday pickups. I will not "house" anyones fish as well.
I have heard from a few people already...there are many more that I should be hearing from as I know from Dave this is a huge order.
The final amount for shipping will not be known until the fish are picked up, and then the amount will be split accordingly. Dave is an expert at packing and shipping.

Their rules can be ridiculous. The people getting their fish flown to BWI do not realize how simple they have it compared to the Philly airport.

OMG Philly Airport cargo area is a NIGHTMARE...

It is pretty awful there...the signs are too few and too small (still better than Newark Airport, which has like ZERO signs).

When I picked up fish there, they wanted two forms of ID which they photo copied, they wanted me to sign like two difference airbill things, and then didn't help me by opening the door for me or anything. They could've at LEAST have had one of the workers hold a door open for me so I can carry two huge 30lb boxes out without risking dropping them...

PLUS.... EVEN THOUGH I had my ID and my name and address matched the airbill, they still would not give me the fish boxes without the airbill number. If I didn't have the sender's cell phone number that would've been a HUGE nightmare trying to pickup the fish...

Ask Eric and John (Greenhacker and Jroo) about the nightmare we had last year when we picked up fish. It was being shipped by an airline that has a policy in Philly Airport of holding ALL packages for at least two hours before they release them.

Just for the record, this is not the airline that Dave uses.

Oh yes I do.... I think it's USair that makes you go into the terminal ... like at baggage claim at BWI. So, lets say there are four boxes flown into BWI via USair. I would have to park my car... fees for every half an hour. Walk 15 min to the terminal for each box. All different trips, because I am not strong enough to carry 2 full boxes. So I would get charged 10+ dollars and it would take 2 hours of my time. FUN FUN FUN.

With BWI it depends on the airlines. Most people now a days ship via southwest so it isn't an issue but the cargo areas are scattered all over BWI. I've just done it enough times that I know what the deal is with each airline :neener::neener::neener:

As everyone knows, or should know, I truly enjoy Group Buys and Road Trips.
I feel as if this site gives back to the Hobbyist and to the Retailer by getting together and having days like these. A true "win-win" if you ask me.

As for Philly vs BWI...yes, we got our butts kicked in.
Many of the people who ordered from CCA, getting their fish sent to BWI, are ECC members as well.
Hopefully Sarah, whose neck must resemble the nuts and bolts aisle at a hardware store, can handle all of the boxes that she has to pick up tomorrow.

And while Sarah also busts her butt (no question about that!), as she posted on CCA, she can get the BWI airport folks to load up her car FOR her, and be in and out of the airport in 20 minutes. ...my thinking is that this happens because she flashes that pretty smile of hers and they are held captive.

I had a blast today...
Got up at 6:30am...went to the car rental agency to swap my car out...didn't happen, but was told to be back at Noon.
At 7:30am I was on the road going to Philly Airport. Around 8:30 I get stuck in construction traffic on Rte73.
9:30 arrive at Cargo City.
Dave (Buckcich's friend) CrabbyMatty's son and then Phillyofish meet me at the Southwest Cargo area.
Leave the airport and drive to Mount Laurel...oh wait, GPS would only listen to Mt Laurel, not Mount Laurel.
Meet up with Phaedris and Eelsnot.
Back onto the Turnpike and drive up to Freehold to meet up with Heyguy74. BFG was going to meet up with me as well but I had to run...
Met up with EMartin at Monmouth Mall...Ed, you have to look a little at what walks by you.:becky:
1:30 and call the rental agency back...they are upset that I am not there.
The car I have has a faulty right directional and bad breaks.
1:45 and I tell the rental agency I am on the way...they told me to call back at 3:00.
2:00...I get home and tank my fish.
3:10...a car is ready for me.
3:30...the guy at the rental agency mentions to me that I drove 360 miles today.:becky::eclipsee_steering::becky:

Just wanted to give a HUGE shout out to Will (heyguy74) who waited for me to get through all the ^$%$#%^( traffic, and who never lost patience with me when I called him endless times, asking "Where is that dang (not the word I really used!) Burger King parking lot on Route 9? I can't find it!"

When we finally hooked up, I think I hugged him at least 20 times!!! :huga:

BTW, Bobby's Burger Palace right there on the grounds of the mall...oh my I am going to miss going there now that my son has graduated from Monmouth as he is back at home. Crunch burgers are oh so good.

Monmouth Mall has some nice traffic walking thru its parking lot. While Ed and I were talking in the lot there was Benz, after Bimmer, after Acura parking...and each had a very attractive female walk out.
There was one car that parked near us. A very shapely, very well-kept woman hopped out of the car...even the Aulonocara in my bags turned to look. Ed wondered why I was looking away from HIM..."Girls, Ed...Girls."

The student parking lot at Monmouth doesn't look a whole lot different car wise and I don't think they're the parents rides either. My son didn't fit in at all with his Honda.

Crunch burgers are any burger you care to create and then it is topped with potato chips. I only got there three or four times but thoroughly enjoyed it every trip.

I was discussing "business" and ECC events with Bill LOL, and he just randomly while I am talking looks to his right & stares. I look, I just see some cars. Anything Bill saw was out of my sight..

All I saw was Acuras...no super nice cars... (go to pier village in long branch, you can see *******s driving convertible rolls royce and maserati's getting pulled over by local police all the time since traffic laws don't seem to apply to them...)

Paul, I believe there were 9 orders flown into Philly and 12 or 13 into BWI.
Bags?...Not sure of the total, but you had the most on our shipment

I also purchased two pairs of Aulonocara jacobfreibergi Hongi Island...these are absolutely beautiful!

I just wanted to pop in and say thanks again to all who ordered fish! Summers are slow for the fish hobby in general, so the group buy always helps us out at a time when it is needed most.

Thanks again to Bill and Sarah for taking the time to coordinate everything on your end, and for picking up and delivering the fish. I can't thank you guys enough. I hope to see you at the ACA convention!
