For those bringing fish to this Sunday's Auction, make Thursday the last day that you feed those fish.
Your fish, and those opening up the bag of those fish, will be much happier.
Thanks.

A very good suggestion indeed.

So I shouldn't drop a couple of NLS pellets after I bag them? Won't they get hungry sitting in those bags all day? :D

I say drop some feeders in the bag with them. Maybe some frozen krill? :neener:

Great advice!
A few of the bags at the PVAS auction last weekend looked like the person that bagged them evacuated his bowels in them prior to the auction. Which is neither good for the fish or your chances for getting what the fish are worse at the auction ;)
I bag with dechlorinated tap...and clean out the fish for at least 2 days prior (longer if possible).
Another tip: if there's a chance that one fish will beat the snot out of another in a single bag....put them in separate bags...

He's talking about the Potomac Valley Aquarium Society http://www.pvas.com/
They had their auction last Sunday.
I would only use bag buddies on large fish no need to sedate small fish or if your putting multiple med. size fish in one bag.

I was going to say...DAMN I missed Pioneer Valley's giant auction!
I use bag buddies on all fish except fry. regardless of their size, large, medium or small fish are succeptable to stress, shock, and oxygen deprivation.
knowing my fish are going to be sloshed around in transport, in bags for many hours, handled and sloshed around a hundred or more times on tables during viewing etc...thats reason enough to sedate even small fish. Bag Buddies are also said to add oxygen to the water which is the main reason I use them.

This and the one about bagging is a great thread and I think it should be archived for future reference for those of us who need it at some future point :)
