SO i recently started in cichlids as i converted a tank to cichlids...unfortunately after trusting a few of lfs employees and started by purchasing a few group of fish from the assorted Mbuna tank. After doing many hours of research and losing a few of my beautiful fishies i dedicated the last month to learning about the african cichlids. I realize i am stuck as money is tight and i have only a 50 gal corner tank to fill (originally put mbuna in my 30 gal hex tank) So i am going to start slowly.
I just spent the last month building and preparing two diy backgrounds for my 55 gal and my corner tank. And i am ready to stock my corner tank...
I love reading and interacting learning from more seasoned hobbyists...

Welcome aboard Moses!
G'day Moses, it's all a learning experience and we all started somewhere. Had my first tank 30 odd years ago and will never forget that it was a 36x18x14 and I was wrapped. My first cichlids were Iodotropheus sprengerae (rusty's) When they had their first spawn, I couldn't believe my eyes and was so excited. There's heaps of help on this forum mate and these good people will point you in the right direction. :a-okhand:
By the way, welcome . :)

Thanks Moses. What did you coat the foam insulation board with, epoxy, fiberglas resin,....?
Did you glue it to the back of the tank? How long have you had it in the tank? Any curing needed?
