I figured I'd start a topic for people to share their book recommendations that are aquaria related.

I'll start with a list of books I own from Novice to Expert level that I find very helpful:
Malawi Cichlids in their Natural Habitat, 4th edition

Tanganyika Cichlids in their Natural Habitat 2nd edition (current one that's out is the 2nd edition)

The Cichlid Aquarium by Paul Loiselle (out of print but there are TONS of used and new copies available on amazon.com. I bought two "like new" copies off there two years ago dirt cheap)

Enjoying Cichlids 2nd Edition by Various Authors

Pennsylvania Fishes by the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission (GREAT book on Native/coldwater species in North America! Probably the only book of it's kind! Gives taxonomic info, locations info, color illustrations, behavior, etc. This book is FREE online as a webpage ebook, but is also available for purchase for $9 (I did) from their website. Google for the address.)

The Cichlid Fishes: Nature's Grand Experiment in Evolution by George W. Barlow (flawed in some areas (in other words it's heavy reading, it's academia-level) but overall a good read. I believe one or a few cichlid species are named after him as well...)

Common Fish Diseases by Lance Jepson <--super short and simple guide to simple AND RARE fish diseases, fungi, and parasites and how to treat them. If I remember correctly, there's even a chapter with instructions on how to do a fish necropsy... I got this because it was dirt cheap on a one day sale on amazon.com with free shipping... so why not? lol

Books I do NOT own but do want and recommend others to get copies as well:
The Endemic Cichlids of Madagascar by Various Authors

The Cichlids of Western Africa by Anton Lamboj

So what does everybody else recommend? Personally I think most of the above books are must haves for the Cichlid Hobbyist, old and new world.

Tanganyika Secrets by Konings is also good. Very different than some of his other books... and shows some of the 'other' fish on the lake with fantastic photos.

L-catfishes by Seildel

The Cichlids of Western Africa by Lamboj

Are all good as well.... plus the tang book mentioned above.

Tanganyika Cichlids is 'ok'.... very rarely use this book but it is good for a quick look.

I want the tropheus aqualog book along with this book...

I have the Konings books on Malawi and Tanganyika. Some good reading and great photos.

I'd also recommend the Baensch Atlases. Alot of info on plants in them also.

Where can you get that eartheaters book? I looked for it in the past couldn't find it for sale anywhere... It's no longer available on cichlidpress.com...

Have you tried the usual sellers?

Mike/Robin Schadle of the Fish Factory - I don't see a website for them.

Lisa's Lair Books doesn't have it, and I sent an email to Finley. I couldn't find contact info for the last source you listed...

Those people on Amazon are nuts. There was also people trying to sell USED VHS copies of Jewel Of The Rift for $90!

I got my two copies (BOTH BRAND NEW AND SEALED IN FACTORY WATERMARKED NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC PLASTIC!) for $30 each on amazon. I bought them the day they popped up for sale on Amazon LOL!.

I paid 40% of retail for my gps and have always gotten good deals from Amazon.

Back to the topic:
The book seems to be uber-rare.
I did Google searches on it and those links are the only "decent" leads I came across.

I wasn't suggesting Amazon doesn't have great deals (I've been shopping from them since 2003!), just those particular sellers on Amazon are nuts asking those prices in my opinion... (amazon themselves weren't selling those copies)

Another book I'd like to recommend:

The Endemic Cichlids to Madagascar by Jean-Claude Nourissat and Patrick de Rham.

Some information is outdated, but since it is pretty much the ONLY book on Malagasy Cichlids in existence it is a must have for people who want to know more about those fish. The book also goes over many other species that have never been imported into the USA or collected at all, and goes over non-cichlid wildlife (both aquatic and terrestrial) as well.

http://www.francecichlid.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=18&category_id=2&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=100010

Currently, there are very few retailers on this side of the world with that book in stock and they have hefty fees for them too. You can buy directly from the fish club that prints it, which is the France Cichlid Association (AFC) for 30euros (about 41usd) not including shipping. Make sure you select the English version from the drop down menu so you don't end up purchasing the French version.

I got my copy from an auction last year and the book was well worth it. I recommend it to anyone who keeps Malagasy cichlids or wants to know more about them. Great photographs in the book as well!

Edit:
Looks like I mentioned it earlier as a book I wanted...either way it's a great book and I recommend it.

It a little dated but still useful, The Most Complete Colored Lexicon of Cichlids by Axelrod.
