I know they are not as popular as our beloved Rift Lakers but let's hear from those who keep the CA/SA Cichlids.
I presently have a group of Thorichthys aureum( Larry Jinks) and a pair of Tomocichla asfraci(Tangled Up in Cichlids).
I also have young from a spaw of Neetroplus nematopus.

Most of my tanks are soft water South American Cichlids. Currently I have a tank of Dicrossus filamentosus, another with Cichlasoma Boliviense, one of Gymnogeophagus gymnogenys, a tank of Blue Rams, one of Bolivian Rams, and 10 of different Apistos. I also have 8 pairs of breeder Angels in 29s and then a 130 planted tank with just angels of all different color/patterns.
While I have done the African breeding thing, after 30 years I have drifted back to mostly South American cichlids. I do have 6 tanks of West African's in the mix, mostly since their water requirements are closer to the South American.
