Thank you, seems like once they color they pretty much stay colored...the degree of intensity varies a little though. Mine are all at their most colorful when the lites first come on in the morning.
Nice fish!!!!
Thanks mack!

Thanks Brian! Most of these shots are at least a few months old, I really need to get some new pics up that I haven't posted before.

Thank you! This is my personal favorite individual, I think most venustus have alot more blue on the head/face and maybe less yellow on the body...they all look pretty good when mature though. ~5" when this shot was taken.

A few shots of some less colorful predators, not positive on these id's, what they were sold as though.
Rhamphochromis esox
http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/ad31/Norbertphoto/Malawi%2012-09/Resox2.jpg
Rhamphochromis macrophthalmus
http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/ad31/Norbertphoto/Malawi%2012-09/Rmacrophthalmus.jpg
and this little guy is supposedly Rhamphochromis longiceps "yellow belly"
http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/ad31/Norbertphoto/Malawi%2012-09/Rlongiceps.jpg
the yellow belly male is only about 4"...doesn't seem to want to grow. He is also far and away more aggressive then the others and even though he was the smallest fish in the tank I had to remove him.
