Many don't even think about it, but what tanks do you like...or do not like.
Odds are, for many of us, that the tanks you are using are AGA brand tanks.
Personally I have had Oceanic tanks in the past and thought their quality was topnotch. I have also had the newer Perfecto and thought its quality was superb. I have never had a Glasscages, but everyone that I have seen I was impressed with.
Lets hear it, does the brand matter?
Would you pay a few bucks extra for Oceanic or Glasscages?

I bought a 130 gallon Krislen brand tank. Little did i know it only had a 6mo warranty. Found this out when i tried to have the POS replaced because the center support gave way and the bottom seam split spilling water ,discus and all on the floor. NEVER again . Lost 48 HUGE cardinals too. I have had Oceanic tanks and find them to be top notch. Shoulda bought another one .

The only cons I hear about glasscages was for larger tanks that weren't properly situated on the floor and shimmied up to be level and from a batch of tanks they sold at a fish show almost ten years ago...
The majority of my tanks are Perfecto. I like them, have no issues with them. They seem very well built (aside from their stand door hinges...those hinges are crap).
The only AGA-era tanks I have seem pretty well built though the silicone job was always sketchy (Perfecto uses silicone very generously) but always held water so far. The new 125g aqueon tank (bought out AGA) seems VERY well built with proper siliconing though I haven't had a chance to fill it yet.
I do know that if I EVER EVER buy a brand new LARGE tank again it WILL be glass cages brand... Their prices are unbeatable. Even if it leaks you'd only have to replace the silicone on the inside since it would be brand new silicone that's holding the glass together. Plus they are the only large scale aqaurium manufacturer that uses Glass Eurobracing on their large tanks which promote very very strong bracing for the tank versus the plastric bracing Aqueon/aga and Perfecto use that can melt, break, etc and is irreplaceable while a glass price you just need to buy new glass and silicone it in place...
Speaking of leaking show tanks... I've been LONG thinking that until I have actually owned a glasscages tank for an extended period of time or any other "third party" brand, I would without any exception have water alarms all over the bottom of the stand so that if there ever is a bottom seam leak the hi pitched alarm will alert me to it... Atlantis actually has at least one of those alarms in their facility I remember seeing one. I don't know if they have any more though.

Most tank manufacturers use quality materials. So it comes down to how good a job did the person who assembled it do. Had only two leakers in all my years of fish keeping. One was a 10 gallon tank in which the bottom glass just broke (the tank was bare bottomed). The other was a 50 breeder made by Glass Cages. Developed a leak in the bottom silicone seal. Lost my breeding colony of orange flame tropheus. Would never buy another tank from that company.
As far as a water alarm is concerned, it is only good if someone is home to hear it.

I have an Oceanic bow and I think everything about the tank up is very top notch- including the stand and canopy. Very nicely made set up

All of mine are Perfecto and aga. I really like them and no issues. Some are 20 years old and never a prob. I have heard bad things about Glass cages from multiple sources.
