Saw them in operation at the LFS. They seem to work well. A bit pricey IMO. Don't know if all the electronic components are necessary. Electronics and water don't mix too well. LOL! I would wait a while before purchasing one.

I too have seen them demo'd in LFS', The problem that I see (aside from the $400-600 price tag) is that they require many proprietary parts and cartridges which adds a hefty maintenance bill along with the astronomical cost. Also, it is not sufficient for any tank larger than 75 gallons, regardless of what its stated capacity is. The flow rate is only 265 gph for the g6 and even less for the g3, not to say they don't have some neat features, just not $500 neat, especially for a filter with such limited flow capaities. You can buy a Fluval FX-5 for under $300 that flows at least 600gph, and then set your cell phone to give you reminders instead of paying for your filter to do it. In my opinion it is a waste of money, and designed to appeal to the tech-bling crowd who don't know any better.

I was looking into these as well. I don't remember where I read it however, it did say they keypad isnt waterproofed at all. Seems pretty silly to me, if something happens to that little keypad or display screen you'll have a really expensive boat anchor

I agree with cichness It's all show. Value x Cost=Zilch, I recently picked up two Fluval Fx5's for 500.00 flat, "count'em" two. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
