Has anybody ever used or seen a lobster tank used for an aquarium? A place near my parents is selling a 110 gallon one.

If it comes with the chiller make it a cold water setup (marine).

There are a lot of rare marine stuff that need cold water.

Or you could do a native fish set up. You should be able to get sunfish to breed easily and regularly (without having to put them in an outdoor pond or garage or basement w/ no heater) by wintering them with the chiller for a while. Sunfish when in full color EASILY rival cichlids for color... Amongst the best sunfish types are the pumpkinseed and longear (Anubias Design has tank raised ones in stock for you so you don't have to go catch wild ones!).

If there's no chiller if it holds water sure you can use it.

If anything hell raise your own food fish! Raise your own tilapia LOL. All tilapia available in stores that are farm raised are hormoned to change their sexes so who knows if the hormones are still in the fish by the time they reach your store...

I'm trying to get the dimensions of the tank from the guy. Most lobster tanks are not that tall, correct?

I do like the native fish set up but i then would have to tear down one of my other tanks and I really don't want to do that. I was hoping to upgrade from my 55 up to this.

As long as it holds water and has (or you can add) filtration, you are good to go.

Looks like it fell through. I e-mailed the guy back asking for dimensions of the tank and if anything else came with it besides the tank and stand and he fell radio silent. I guess he didn't want to sell it.
