I received an email from Dave's site and noticed a couple of rare Vics.
Never heard of them, much less seen them.
Expensive but nice size.
I may have to splurge on these guys for Christmas......

I got that email as well. Might there be a group order in the plans? Daves got a few things that interest me but I'd like to save on the shipping if possible.

Really cool fish, I personally never owned a lot of Vic's in the past, but I wouldn't mind a few of those.

Would they be coming from here:

If you go to the Victoria section - you'll see them. Bred in Europe.

Basically - they all come from here eh.

Could be. I think for a private order one has to spend $750.00 with New World. I'll pass on that and get fish from Dave with our discount.

LOL

Just teasing and showing the newbies where to stuff really comes from.

I think you hit the nail right on the head, Vic!

There are also a few starting to show up that are offspring from some other small 'shipments' in the past. It's a good idea to check stuff out in the late fall/early winter 'cause that's when all the outside tanks & ponds have to be emptied!

Excellent point and observation. I lived in Tampa for a year and got to see how nasty it could be for a fish farmer. During one nasty frost - the guy lost thousands of africans because his tent began to tare and the cold air from the wind began to sink the temps! Ouch!

These guys are going faster than I expected. I have about 20 of the Orange Rock Hunters left, but I'm all out of the other three species I brought in (Lipochromis melanopterus, Yssichromis piceatus, and Pundamilia macrocephala). I did manage to get a large spawn out of the Pundamilia first though! I couldn't believe I got 34 fry out of a fish that was barely 2''!

Dave did the mouth rupture on the holding female? I'm sure you relieved her as soon as you saw LOL.
