This is a wonderful West ASfrican riverine species. I have a pair who own a 125 gallon tank. The male is about 7" or so. The spawn is in the 125 fry range. The pictures have been tough. It has been a struggle with lighting. That side of the tank has some large plants that prevent me from using the flash overhead and the tank is deep and they are always in the back..they may be a little darker than I like, but I will keep trying

Dave, you out did yourself on those shots!!!
Definite Home Page material in the not-so-distant future.
Could you describe their tank?
The fish and the camera are so still.
nice job. Nice fish. Black and Blue - nice color combo to have.

Thanks everyone. That is the male. The female watches over everything behind a rock and don't see her too much. She is about 5" in length.
The tank is a 125 gallon tank. Sand bottom. I have a rock pile and breeding log at each end of the tank. There are many large plants that subdues alot of the lighting. This pair is on 1 end and there is a second pair on the other end. Occasionally they meet in the middle, but they stick to their respective ends. Pretty lucky to have a 2nd pair. A interesting observation though...the fry swim all over the tank including the other pair's area and they don't bother them at all. I assumed the fry that ventured over would get eaten, but it hasn't happened yet.
