Ed and I visited the Hidden Reef store in Levittown, PA today. We also hooked up with Sam (Phillyofish).
The store was having their annual sale and the place was packed.
Ed and I each picked up nice pieces of of holey rock along with a container of SERA catfish wafers. Dry goods were 20% off.
I also purchased 5 Benngai cardinals, a mouthbrooding peaceful marine fish, that I will attempt to spawn. Marine fish were discounted to 25% off.
In addition I purchased a dozen Corydoras haraldschultzi. These are adults and very similar in appearance to C. sterbai. At $4.50ea, you could not ask for a better deal. All freshwater fish (except african cichlids  were 50% off. The Africans were 25% off).
Sam picked up a couple of koi for next spring's pond along with a cart full of supplies.
An added attraction was a talk on new imports presented by Tony Orso, an importer from Vernon, NJ. I met Tony and his wife Rose last weekend at their home during an NJAS sponsored trip. Tony has over 200 tanks and mostly deals with smaller fish such as Apistos, West African dwarf cichlids, killies, rare rasboras. He also has several types of Tanganyikans, fancy plecos and angelfish.
Tony graciously invited Ed and I to his home again this coming Friday. If you are interested in those fish mentioned above, don't miss the chance to check out Tony's stock.
