I was wondering how often if at all you change your bulbs? I had one go the other day and put another bulb I had(the same kind) and man what a difference. Even though it was the same type bulb.

Personally I only change when they go out. The exception is if I want to take some pictures. The Lumens on a bulb will drop significantly after about 2000 hours or so. But I am cheap and dont replace them till they are bad.

Mike, I only change my lights when then go out, but I have read you lose a good amount of your bulbs brightness in the first six to twelve months of its use.

I usually change mine when they go out ,but if you are keeping corals in a reef tank i would change them about every 6 months or so.its worth it if you got alot money wrapped up on coral

It's hard to see the decline but after a year they're only about half as bright.
