Hello,
My name is Pat Kelly.
I live in Maryland and have about 53 small tanks in the basement with mostly Cichlids.
I am the President of the Capital Cichlid Association which is the local cichlid club down here. I belong to mulitple clubs and you will find me on many forums under either my name or the finman57. I do not post a lot but do take a lot of pictures that I post.

I think I have been into fish all my life but lately it has gotten out of hand. All of my vaction time is used for fish conventions or hosting speakers at our club.

Question, Is this site related to the East Coast Cichlid Association that was trying to get going in PA about 2 years ago? It was a club that I think met for a at peoples houses for a year or so but did not make it? Is this a group trying to start a fish club and have a forum or is the idea just the forum?

Either way, nice forum. I will be around and posting now and then.

I have a brother that lives in Baltimore that i visit a few times a year. Does your club have an annual auction?

Kurt, your everywhere.

eggzackary, no we have not had one yet. Have talked about it but just never have. Our meetings sometimes have 70 -100 items in the mini auction so we just never worried about an big one. Our meetings are on Saturdays and keep getting bigger. We tend to bring in known speakers several times per year. Some of these draw enough people that it feels like an event rather than a meeting. lol. In September we had Dick Au from San Fran here and 84 people showed for a meeting. Thats our record so far. I expect to break it in May when Ad is here.

Let me answer your question...
No, we are not the Association or affiliated with that Association of the past.
We are just EastCoastCichlids. We are online to have a forum but we will also be holding trips, get-togethers and auctions. Right now we are planning things for the first four months of '09.
Hopefully we will be in your neck of the woods one day!!!
