i've always used the stealth heaters and they work like a charm.

I use stealth heaters as well as their non stealth version. They have worked really well for me over the years.

I switched to Stealth heaters shortly after Eheim took over Ebo Jager.

Having said that, I run my heaters via controller units, because the reality is that all makes & models of heaters have the potential to fail, and adding a controller unit adds one more layer of protection to your system if/when a heater fails in the ON position. What controllers do is create a situation where you now have 'two' devices that need to fail in order for your fish to get boiled.

IMO redundancy is always a good thing in this hobby.

Stealth, I can't be trusted with glass, Plus you can watchange it out of the water no-problem.

I like the regular visi therm heaters. Had a couple of stealths and they were ok, but I like to see the little red light when the heater is on.

Hydor ETH inline heaters,temp has been rock solid at 79 for 6 months.I also have stealth heaters,which I like,but I find when the temp really drops in my basement,so does the temp in the tank with the stealth,this does'nt happen with the Hydor ETH.I would never buy anything other than the Hydor again,plus it's one less piece of equipment in the tank.
