We're thinking of doing a PA Road trip in early January. Stops would include The Hidden Reef in Levittown, TNT Cichlids in Elmwood Park, Anubias Design in Bensalem and frybabies in Pottstown. We could also hit That Pet Place in Lancaster if there is time.
Let's hear from whoever is interested and get a head count .

Then we can have a Tom/Bill vs Ed/Doug/Dave tag team match.

OK, my 2 cents...
1/10 will be a Saturday, Sunday NFL Playoff schedule (NO Dolphins jokes, Tom:)).
1/17 looks like it is no good.
1/24 is a Saturday (1/25 is the AFC/NFC Championship games)
AlishanAS

At least some of the games will be late starts and in prime time.
Also we won't have the Fins and Iggles to worry about.

We're trying to firm up a date and it's looking like January 24. We are waiting for confirmation from Anubias Design, frybabies and Doug Grey. Remember that TNT Cichlids is out of the picture due to the fact that Tyrone is remodeling his fish room. Depending on the timing we may hit That Pet Place also.

A change in the day's schedule is needed to accommodate one of the vendors.
As of now we will first go to That Pet Place in Lancaster to be followed by frybabies, Anubias Design and then The Hidden Reef.
The plan is to be at TPP when it opens at 9:00AM. Those coming from NJ and points east can meet in the Yardley, PA Park and Ride off 95 South at 7:30 for car pooling.
emartin- plan for a long day if you decide to attend.

It's a all day trip. 1 1/2 hrs to TPP from Yardley, if your moving fast! An hour to get to Frybabies. An 1hr+ to get back down to Anubias Design. The Hidden Reef is not to far from Marks. Figure close to 4hrs of drive time alone.
TPP is worth a look at if you have never been out there The place is BIG
Frybabies has a ton of fish and is the largest basment fish room I have ever been in That and Julie is a great hostest
Anubias Design has some neat fish other then African cichlids, and putts on a great open house with some real good food
The Hidden Reef has some real good prices on dry goods and a good sized fish room

We are back from the road trip. Hubby and I met up with the gang at TFP and then went onto Julies.
It was great to put some faces to the names. Dave and Ms Dave...so sorry I lagged and we missed going to lunch. It's Julie's fault as she has way to much stuff to ponder over!
To the folks that beat me to those really neat south american dwarf pike cichlids...phhhhfffftttttt. :1devil: LOL
While I didn't find any must have fish at TFP, Julie's was a different story. I got a group of 6 cory. duplicareus that I've been looking for. The rest is Longstockings fault because she showed me the darnest cutest little plecos ya ever did see and I just can't pass up a cute pleco. So I had to get 6 of those too....brat.
Now if I could have just talked her into accidently catching one of the zebra plecos that was in the same tank....it was worth a shot.
I actually showed great restraint in walking out with just 12 fish. I'm proud of myself! There were some very very nice Scleromystax barbatus that Julies was hoarding and wouldn't share...sniff. Just kidding. They are very nice little catfish and I don't blame her one bit.
She has one heck of an assortment of fish. I was impressed and I'm not easily impressed.
We really had a great time and I'm looking forward to the next road trip. I've decided before you all come here I really need to stock up. Julie has definately raised the bar and I'm nowhere close!

Well the day started out slow while we waited for the North Jersey group! Then the other part of the group in Carlos car tells us they are at exit 3 on the turnpike and Tom tells them that's nice because you were supposed to get off exit 7a! So I had them go to exit 6 and meet up with the PA turnpike. Then Bill's truck, Tom & my car headed out for That Fish Place!
We arrived around 9:30 and everyone else sometime after 10am. By then I already had over $300 worth of dry goods in my cart! Then I went around taking pics of their fish in their show tanks and in the fishroom while everyone else shopped! I was able to give my discount out to Tom & Ginny.
Then around 11:30 our caravan of 8 cars headed out to Frybabies and arrived around 12:40. Julie was a great host and had Longstocking there to help catch and bag fish. It was great to see Longstocking & Julie again! We had a great time there and great deals were had! I came home with a breeding pair of Albino eureka's that I have been trying to buy from Julie for over a year now and she was finally ready to get rid of them for about 2/3's of what she originally wanted to sell them to me. I guess my waiting paid off. Fishwife picked up a quad of OB peacocks and a gorgeous 8-9" Royal Pleco for 1/2 of what TFP had them for! We did not leave there until 2:30pm.
Then 6 cars headed out to Anubias Design. Bev's car and Foamer Dave headed home. We arrived there around 3:45. Mark had people over and his fishroom was crowded so we headed for the food! Mark as usual had a nice amount of food out. When we were finished eating we took turns in the fishroom. I came home with 10 Cory habrosus for a great price.
From there I went home to bag up Bill's rusty's that I got for him at MisterTed's and met back up with the group at The Hidden Reef. I stayed for a bit then went home after giving Bill his fish. I left this morning at 7am and got home at 8pm! It was a great day, lots of fun, little ball breaking, great deals and just a excellent day of fish geeks getting together!
Atlantis trip is next! I am sure it will be as great as this trip! If you did not sign up then make sure to do so.
I am glad everyone kept up with me and really enjoyed my driving! :clapclap:
Sorry but I did not take any pics at Julies and I should have. She had a few new racks and new lighting. I am sure to be back there this summer and will take pics then. Pics to follow later tonight. Time to get back to acclimating the fish.

N Brichardi "Red Spot" from Longstocking. I have wanted these Neo's for quite a while now and the wait was worth it. Thanks Sarah!
Cyprichromis Leptosoma Lime Ghost. A nice group of juvies from Frybabies.
Corydoras Metae. A small group that I hope to build on.
Killies. One pair of an unbelievably beautiful Killie that someone here better tell me what they are...LOL. The Cories and Killies came from Mark Denaro!
Rusties. These came from Misterted and are the absolute best looking Rusties that I have ever seen.
The day was a huge success. At one point there were EIGHT cars of us....EIGHT! Every single stop was worth it and everyone that I met today was worth meeting.
Because of today a HUUUUUUUGE announcement is about to be made about an upcoming road trip!

It was really good to put faces to the names that I converse with on here. I got to Julies a little later than I wanted but was still able to catch a majority of the group.
It was my first trip to Julies and if I was alot stronger I would cat burgle her driveway one night. Inside was a giant assortment of fish. Oh how I wanted to take a few Moroto and Zebras home. Julie I appreciate your hospitality and it was very good to see you again.
I went to Marks and to my dismay you guys ate most of the food :( I did have a few quality hot dogs and chili. I picked up a few Garra Flavatra "incredibly cool fish" and they are at home in one of my 150 planteds. Its hung over with algea so they wont go hungry anytime soon.
AlishanAS Nice Sewellia lineolata hope they breed soon I forgot to say cooler water, no heater. Even the high 60s is OK
Young Aquatic, Fischfan13, Joe, and everyone else it was great to meet you all.
Next time you should all wear name tags. I could snap a picture and remember. Either that or change your names to latin...... then I wouldnt forget.

It was great to put some faces to the names. Dave and Ms Dave...so sorry I lagged and we missed going to lunch. It's Julie's fault as she has way to much stuff to ponder over!
We were sorry to have to leave to Bev, but we had to try to go relieve Grandmom (or so we thought - she ended up deciding to keep our daughter another night!). If we would have known that we would have stayed to get something to eat with you two.
I had a great time to. Dave and I got some dry fish stuff out at That Fish Place, some toy's for the cat's, and at Julies I finally was able to get a L134 that I have been trying to find for over a year.
It was great to see everyone again, and to meet some new people as well. I'll look forward to another trip - if I don't have a test pending before hand....

Sorry I missed most of you guys.
I did get to meet Chris1932 and his wife. Very knowledgeable and fun to listen to. Though he's a big SA guy and I enjoy Tangs it's still very fun to learn new things.

Had a great time with some nice people. Just got to love those road trips. Woke up at 5:00 AM to wait for all the sleepy heads to arrive. Got on the road at 7:30 AM. Met everyone at That Fish Place. Had a nice time at Julie's and Mark's place (Great hosts - thank you). Picked up some dry goods (no room for fish). On the way home we also picked up a flat tire on the NJ Turnpike. Told Ginny (the driver who works for NJ Transit bus company) that next time I'll go Greyhound. About a half mile later we come upon a broken down Greyhound bus on the side of the road. LOL! Tons of laughs. Got home around midnight. Can't wait for the next road trip. For those of you who didn't attend, you missed a good time. See everyone soon.

Steve, when I got to Marks, I for the life of me couldnt remember your name. When I said big cool tatoo everyone but me knew "Steve" so now I wont forget. It was a really good day, and at each place I outlasted the crowds so I got BS a little.
Youngaquatic...Thats a dreamy camera you got there.

So how many fish heads did it take to change a tire??Fish heads are smart. We called AAA. Had to show the tow truck operator how to get the spare tire out from under the van. It was a good thing that we all had flashlights with us. LOL!
