I really love these fish might be my favorite of all the lakes. I really want some Paralabidochromis sp. 'Rock Kribensis' Mwanza Gulf 'Red Morph' as these were some of the first fish i kept years ago. I am not working so $$$ is tight but i think I might have to get some!!! Your don't see this many vics available that often

I am currently growing out a group (3m:5F) of the Uganda Fire... they are available here on the East Coast, just a bit further north! :peep:

What I don't know is if I can expect to keep extra males in the tank (55gal, 48" long) or will the alpha kill them? There may be an additional male revealed as the fish mature.

Can anyone tell me more about the taxonomic classification of this fish? I see it listed so many different ways... :sigh:

Hey Mel I kept Uganda Fire Reds a few years back. The male was a stunner, but also a bully to his own. There was no way he would even allow another male of his kind around. My group survived with one male because the second was killed by the dom male.

So, what is the demand for Vics like around here? I'm wondering if I should grow out my Hap. Uganda Fire... They're breeding now! :becky:

i have kept about 80% of thoes fish on daves list and most came from dave over the years. order from dave you wont be sorry/
there is always a demand for victorians the issue is most folks arent aware they exist. when i moved to texas no one in dfw, at the local fish stores didnt even know what they were. so i saturated the area with giving them away the fry that is over the local fourms and that let to an explosion of vic intrest, and now customers are requesting thier lfs carry a vic selection. not to mention in two short years the ones i gave away, they gave away thier fry and now the fulu are in the stores here.
