I don't really know much about killifish but I bought two and I now have 6 so at some point they bred and I had no idea. I put a plant in there that floats because I heard they lay eggs in floating plants. I am now noticing new very small fry. I missed the last fry for so long that by the time I saw them they were a half inch.
What should I do with these new fry? Will the parents eat them or should I remove them?

Joe Jaskot is our resident killie guy. Hopefully he'll awake in the dead of night and provide an answer. :)

Some killiefish eat their fry and some ignore them. If you provide enough plant cover and keep the killies well fed, some fry will survive with the parents. If you want to guarantee their survival, you can remove them and grow them in another container. Killies constantly lay eggs. The gardneri are mop spawners and will lay eggs in a floating mop or attach them to floating plants. You can pick the eggs off the mop and hatch them in another container. Microworms are good first foods for fry.
