Here's a hap that you don't see every day;
Stigmatochromis modestus "Lupingu"
Horrible pics, but this guy is very camera shy & stays at the back of the tank when the camera comes out.

Were you the person I spoke with a little bit before I bought them? If so, then hi! I find them to be very interesting and peaceful fish. Do to the tank being crowded they lost their solid blue color and full blaze but after I removed the bully peacock in there and reorganized the tank they seem to be doing a whole lot better and coloring back up. ANd their protrusible mouths are awesome...I see them suck up flakes and cyclops and brine shrimp all the time...very cool to see in person.

Yes-that's exactly right Bill. They were one of my first excursions from my normal mbuna/vic addiction. Everyone was warning me that I'd have one very nice fish and a bunch of plain-jane minnows if I went to haps. HA! I think they all look great & I absolutely love watching this tank. The females are very attractive to me & the lack of wild aggression is refreshing:love:

Nick what species is that? C. jacksoni?
I had the same problem with my old wild Nyassachromis boadzulu colony, except they'd spawn only for about a month every 4-5 months. If I stripped the females (and then powerfeed them frozen food like krill and mysis so they can breed again) I could get a couple spawns but it's really annoying. It was clockwork with them... Spawn for 2-4 weeks, then stop for a few months and lose color, then color back up again and spawn, etc. The females would just stop spawning after a month...lose interest.
I've never had that happen with my other wild fish...they spawn whenever they want to.

They're the Mloto Undu. 4 or 5 of the 6 femmes are holding right now...talk about swamping my fry tanks! It's an interesting behavioral twist compared to the Virginalis Gold. The tanks are in the same room with everything pretty much identical. The MU's breed all at once/once or twice a year. The VG's breed individually/sporadically throughout the year (much more Mbuna-like).

mchenga conophorus.. its one of those fish that was recently reclassified it was something else before i want to say copadichromis but i may be wrong.. its a gorgeous fish def on my list of fish i want to keep.. john has a group just havent bred successfully for him yet
mylochromis are noted for the stripe down the back in like a diagonal.. which the ericotaniae doesnt have, they have more of a striping.. i wouldnt be suprised if at some point they reclassify that fish as well.. theres so many fish that they classify and reclassify them into different genuses and sometimes their own genus all the time when they get new information about them or get the time to further investigate
lol oops im half asleep you didnt even ask about mylochromis ericotanias.. lol my bad i went on a rant for no reason

Wow, looks like you made a fish sculpture using tin foil. Sparkly.
