I am looking to glue two clay pots together. What glue or epoxy is aquarium safe? I was thinking of pvc glue. Can anyone confirm that it is aquarium safe?

Hey mike I did something similar with the rocks on my 30 gallon and I used aquarium silicone I got from my lfs...

If not sure then use Aquarium silicone. That's what I use and it holds most things together.

I agree, aquarium silicone. I had a bad experience with using a non-aquarium silicone I had used 2 years earlier. The newer product had added "biosafe" and I had used it to install an in-tank background on the 72" tank. Fish started to die and it was the only possibility. What a LOT of work to remove it and reinstall, but I learned my lesson!

Mike I use aquarium silicone. Home depot carries it and it is cheaper than the lfs

Once dried, PVC primer/cement is just fine 'safe' wise (otherwise we wouldn't be able to drink the water!)--BUT it will NOT make a bond with clay pots. Silicone will make a short-lived attachment--but it won't really bond to 'em either & some months down the road the 'joint' will fail.
Look into picking up some of the stuff that the salt guys use to attach corals and such. That expoxy is safe & solid!

You can use crazy glue (same stuff the salt water guys use). It can even dry underwater with no problems. Although I would let it dry out of the tank.

I worked in the inspection department of an Aerospace company. I used to inspect and test incoming lots of silicone. GE Clear silicone is exactly the same chemical composition as aquarium silicone- in fact I called a GE company inspector and asked him that question. He said they used to manufacturer it and sell it to two other aquarium companies who were marketing it as their brand of aquarium sealant. I have been using the Ge silicone with a caulking gun to reseal tanks and bond aquarium related things for years without a problem.
I dont me4an to imply that anyone here hasnt had a problem and lost fish, just that, if you had used Ge silicone- dont panic. You should be fine.
And as always, what works for me may not always work for everyone

Just make sure it doesn't have biosafe!
